QuitBeacon is designed to help you quit smoking while keeping your personal progress close to you. This policy explains what the current QuitBeacon beta does and does not collect.

What the current app stores

The current beta stores your quit plan, routine times, notification preferences, activity logs, rescue drafts, personal reasons, previous-attempt context, support tone, cigarette cost, and progress on your device. This information is used to provide the app’s features and is not sent to QuitBeacon servers.

Local storage security

The app stores this information in a local SQLite database. The current beta does not encrypt that database, so use your device lock and do not share an exported file. You can delete the data from the app’s settings at any time.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules notifications on your device. You can change or turn off these reminders in the app or your device settings. QuitBeacon does not use your location to schedule reminders.

Cookies and website technologies

The current QuitBeacon website does not use analytics, advertising, social-media tracking, or other non-essential cookies. It does not store a cookie or use browser local storage for a marketing or profiling purpose. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the service. We will update this policy and request consent before introducing any non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies.

What we do not collect in the current beta

• No account or sign-in is required.
• We do not collect your journal text, contacts, precise location, microphone recordings, or advertising identifier.
• We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Future changes

If a future version introduces optional accounts, synchronization, or aggregate analytics, we will explain the change in the app, request any required consent, and update this policy before collecting new categories of data.

Deleting your data

Because the current beta stores data locally, you can delete it from QuitBeacon’s settings, by using your device’s app settings to clear QuitBeacon storage, or by uninstalling the app. This permanently removes locally stored app data unless your device has a separate backup.

Children

QuitBeacon is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
